Members of Galloway MRT were called out just after 4pm on the 4th March to assist an injured walker near Culsharg Bothy, Merrick

Following the attendance of Rescue Helicopter 199, the Team were stood down soon after 5pm

Callout 2020/12 Injured Walker

Galloway MRT were deployed on the evening of 25th August to assist an injured walker North of Culsharg Bothy. Two team members were tasked and were able to locate casualty and help them off the hill. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.

PRESS RELEASE 19/08/2020 A busy few weeks for Galloway MRT

IT HAS been an exceptionally busy few weeks for the members of Galloway Mountain Rescue team. Over the last five weeks since lockdown restrictions have been relaxed, we have been called upon by Police Scotland to assist in six different incidents.

Callout 2020/11 Lost Walker.

GMRT was called at 7pm on 18th August to assist a walker, disorientated in poor conditions. Technology helped to locate them quickly. Earlier the same day GMRT was on Standby to assist an injured cyclist but were stood down as Ambulance Service Crew were able to reach and evacuate them.
